*Best Laser Clinic Melbourne
At SKIIN, we provide IPL and laser hair removal in Melbourne that is safe and efficient. While there are many ways to remove hair, such as plucking, waxing and shaving, these methods can be messy, inconvenient and difficult to maintain. IPL and laser hair removal treatments are widely considered to be a better option, as they provide a method of permanently reducing hair growth from various areas of the body and face.

With the experience, technology and facilities necessary to carry out laser hair removal in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, our laser skin clinic in Melbourne is not limited by your condition, skin colour, hair colour or hair thickness. We have options for ALL to be able to enjoy smooth, hair free skin.

Who is Laser Hair Removal suitable for?

At SKIIN we are able to cater for Fitzpatrick Skin types 1-5 so it is suitable for almost all skin types.

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a method of permanently reducing hair growth from various areas of the body and face.

The laser works by directing concentrated light into the skin which is absorbed by the target pigment of our hair – melanin. Once absorbed, the light energy is converted to thermal energy by the tissue, and this thermal insult permanently disrupts the hair’s blood and nutrient supply, inhibiting the hair’s ability to grow. Laser Hair Reduction treatments effectively target hair growth without disrupting or damaging the skin’s surface.

Our Dermal Clinicians target the hair in the Anagen stage which is our hair’s active growth phase. This is the most affective phase to target during the hair removal process, as there is an abundance in nutrient supply which can be targeted.

Why choose Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is the ideal solution for anyone who is wanting a low maintenance, long term method of hair reduction. Shaving, waxing, tweezing and depilatory creams are all temporary hair removal options, so why not opt for something that will keep you hair free all year round?

Am I suitable?

Our machine caters for Skin Fitzpatrick’s 1-5 (light to dark skin tones), making it suitable for all skin types.

What to Expect

Depending on the size of the area being treated, a single session of laser hair removal in Melbourne can take anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. The treatment causes minimal discomfort, and has often been described as being similar to the flick of an elastic band.

After treatment, it is important to use sunscreen, protect the skin, and follow the advice of your practitioner to ensure the best laser hair removal results.

How many treatments are required?

Hair removal treatments are performed every 4-6 weeks and a series of 6-10 sessions are recommended for longer lasting results.

What machine is used?

At SKIIN, we use an effective machine from Cutera − a United States based company.

Is there any downtime/ is it painful?

Generally, there is little downtime involved with Laser Hair Removal. You may experience redness, swelling, and possibly heat in the treated area, though this will only last 24-48 hours if any at all. The treatment isn’t necessarily painful, though some individuals may find it uncomfortable.
