*Best Laser Clinic Melbourne
Pearl Fractional anti-aging laser is a single treatment solution for skin wrinkles, enlarged pores, irregular skin texture and acne scarring. It addresses deep-set imperfections and tired/weathered skin and supplies the perfect complement to a surgical procedure requiring moderate downtime.

At SKIIN we use Cutera’s Pearl to perform our fractional laser treatment, which is one of the best on the market in terms of equipment and treatment options. Our fractional laser treatment can also be combined with other intensive treatments to further enhances clients results and ensure they achieve their desired end result effectively.

Who is Fractional Laser suitable for?

Fractional laser resurfacing is ideal for clients looking to treat pigmentation, sun damage, wrinkles/ fine lines, acne scarring and general rejuvenation of the skins tone and texture.

What is Fractional Laser?

Fractional Laser describes a treatment that affects only a fraction or small percentage of the skin. With Pearl Fractional it is treating the damaged cells deep within the lower levels of the skin. This fractional treatment selectively removes columns of tissue leaving the surrounding skin intact, which in term shortens healing time and stimulates our body’s natural process for creating new collagen, plumping and firming the skin from below and reversing signs of photo aging and other imperfections.

How many treatments are required?

This will differ from case to case. Most clients find they need 1-2 sessions to achieve their desired results. Other maintenance treatments in between may be required.

Is there any downtime?

Yes, there is downtime with Fractional laser. Depending on your work schedule we do often suggest having some time off and not planning any social events in the few days after the initial treatment. You can experience a tight like feeling on the skin, dryness and possible redness, all of which are completely expected responses.

Post treatment:

  • Avoid touching the treated area unless necessary (vinegar soaks). Do not pick the treated area but allow skin to heal on its own.
  • You may shower, but keep soaps and hair products from coming in contact with the treated area.
    • Do a vinegar soak after the shower, followed by ointment.
  • If you experience itching, an over the counter antihistamine such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) may be helpful.
  • Ibuprofen or acetaminophen may be used if needed.
  • After stopping the ointment, use ONLY a clinician recommended moisturizer for at least one week. Examples are:
    • Vanicream
    • Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream (this is gentler than Cetaphil lotion)
  • Make-up may be worn after the majority of treated skin has healed, usually within 4 to 7 days.
  • It is very important to use sunscreen with a SPF of 20 or greater when your clinician says your skin is ready.

What to Expect:

  • Oozing may occur for the first 24 hours. You may notice small red/brown spots on your skin which may turn darker, but will disappear as the skin begins to heal.
    • You may wish to protect your pillow the first night following treatment with an old, clean pillow case.
  • Swelling may occur and usually resolves in 2-4 days.
    • Sleeping on 2 pillows with your head elevated is helpful.
  • Redness is a normal and expected reaction and will resolve with time.
  • It is normal for skin to feel “sunburned” and/or tight.
