*Rosacea is a frustrating skin condition that begins subtly, with the intermittent appearance of redness along the cheeks and nose. The primary signs of rosacea include redness of the face, small visible spider vein-like blood vessels, a burning or stinging sensation, a red or bulbous nose, watery or irritable eyes, and acne-like sores. Rosacea is more common among fair-skinned people (particularly those of Northern European descent) and is more prevalent for women than men, but men typically are more severely affected when it develops.
While rosacea is a harmless cosmetic concern, it often causes a loss in self-esteem and embarrassment during social and professional encounters.
The causes of rosacea are unknown, but it occurs when there is swelling of the blood vessels just underneath the skin’s surface. There are currently no known cures for rosacea, but there are very affective therapies available that have been proven to control or reverse its signs and symptoms. Laser Genesis has been shown to aid in the resolution of the vascular telangiectasia (small spider veins) and general erythema (superficial reddening of the skin) often associated with Rosacea.
